IBC Gangsters minted one of the first CFT-20 tokens and had a fully-developed NFT project ready to inscribe in the first few hours of the Asteroid Protocol’s launch. How did they do it? How did they have the foresight to launch so early on what is now a highly-anticipated project? We sat down with this group of rough riders to learn more about the founding story, the folks involved and their deep ties in the Cosmos ecosystem. Enjoy!
Interviewing IBC Gangsters
What inspired the IBC Gangsters project?
The idea for the IBC Gangsters project was floating around even before the LUNA crash, but it wasn't until Asteroid Protocol approached that we had to move swiftly. There was no detailed roadmap in place when we first inscribed the IBC Gangsters. Our primary goal was to get the collection on-chain as quickly as possible, hence the shoot first, think later approach. Inspired by our former group name 'IBC Gangsters' the entire process from creating the first gangster to inscribing the last one unfolded in a mere 11 hours.
Your IBC Gangsters token is the 4th to be minted on Asteroid Protocol. What brought you to Asteroid Protocol so early? How did you hear about it and what attracted you to launching your project here?
Living in the world of crypto teaches you the importance of staying informed to survive. We're well-connected within the Cosmos ecosystem, so when we heard whispers about Asteroid Protocol and its potential game-changing impact, we were all ears. When the tweet about Asteroids surfaced after midnight on launch day, it triggered an immediate response. Choosing to launch our project here was a no-brainer, considering our deep-rooted connections to the Cosmos.
On your website, you have a manifesto and origin story. Can you tell us more about this significance?
The story of the IBC Gangsters reflects our collective journey—a narrative of resilience, ambition and transformation. Each member has faced challenges, but we've always supported each other. Our manifesto and origin story embody this ethos, reminding us of our past and guiding our future.
How about the roadmap? What are your launch plans for the inscriptions? How will you launch the project? What are your long-term and short-term plans for the project?
Stay tuned for our upcoming roadmap release! We're preparing to roll out inscriptions in batches, making sure everyone gets a fair chance. Our immediate goal is to grow our gangster family and foster a vibrant community. Looking forward, we're committed to establishing our presence in the Cosmos ecosystem and making waves in the digital realm.
What role will the IBC Gangsters token play in the project?
Although the exact role of the $IBCG token is still under development, it will be integrated into the future of the IBC Gangsters. We're considering buyback schemes, liquidity pool utilization, and other innovative methods to enhance its utility, depending on the capabilities of Asteroid Protocol.
You mentioned that there is a founding team. Can you please tell us more about the team? What are their backgrounds? Is there anyone in particular you’d like to mention?
Based in Europe, the founding team of the IBC Gangsters boasts a diverse background, spanning various professions and age groups. From pilots to pharma executives, project managers to entrepreneurs, software engineers to developers, our team brings a wealth of real-world experience to the table. We forged our bonds during the tumultuous crypto landscape of 2021. Despite enduring the hardships of the Terra collapse in May 2022, we emerged stronger, united by our shared passion for crypto and enthusiasm for the Cosmos ecosystem.

Our vault on the website serves as a testament to our passion for collecting unique projects and artwork. RUNES' GANGSTER VEGGS series, in particular, has captivated our attention with its creativity and dedication.
